Refocused...

Well, I think it's safe to say 2011 was the most inactive year for Backscatter ever as a label. There are many reasons for this some personal, but mostly just a refocusing of some of our efforts here. As some of you may know, my solo project Xiescive recently saw a release on Nilaihah Records which took a lot of my time last year.

In addition to personal music writing activities with Xiescive, I have a lot of other side projects I work on. What we have been focusing on more lately here is studio services such as mastering, restoration and post-production in general. We have expanded our repertoire to include custom scoring for film, tv and advertising. We will be announcing more about this in the coming months with specific details of what we have done so far, what we offer and where we're headed ;)

We are not closing and this is not officially a hiatus, but a notice that we will for sure be doing less as an artist driven label. We will continue to release new material when the time and music is right, probably exclusively digitally from here on out. We hope to be in touch with everyone who has given us such great support over the years as well as forging new relationships with people interested in what we are focusing on now and in the future!

Site re-launch and two free compilations

With this new site design and the new year, we would like to officially announce the merger of Dungeon Recordings as the sub-label of Backscatter Media with a reorganization of our back catalog and look forward to the future! Backscatter has found a new domain name and with our brothers Dungeon Recordings, present two "Best Of" compilations from the releases of both our labels to say "Thank You" to all of our awesome supporters over the years. These two new compilations feature both classic tracks from our catalog as well as new/exclusive hits from our unique artist repertoire.

The new year closes out Backscatter's 15th year of operation and Dungeon's 10th, we're looking forward to many more! Our old site [backscatter.biz] is no longer active as of now so please take this opportunity to update your bookmarks and email contacts with our new addresses.
